The real deal

As is blatantly obvious, I haven’t blogged for a fair while. To be honest, I’ve been busy and uninspired and the non-essentiality of blogging means that it’s what gets burried along with my overdue library books and important papes on my desk.
Yes folks, I have to pay my first library fine. It makes me increadibly cranky, so I won’t go into details. Besides, even the boredest or most intent procrastinator does not want to know the delicate intricacies of clocking up 53 bucks of fines on a book you didn’t read.
Things that have been:
-Two 21st parties in two weeks. It was fun to dance and laugh with school friends and let the music take you away and put you back in high school when things were much simpler, and friends shared everything. It was a strange juxtoposition between teenage memories and present reality, and I sometimes felt odd and old being the ‘married one’. But they were fun times.
- And a 24th birthday picnic. Very different from aforementioned celebrations, but sweetly relaxing and great to hang out with old church friends. Highlights: playground equiptment, salad with mushrooms, Colin Buchannan’s silly songs, sunshine and maison in plastic picnic cups.
- Uni. Speed on the end of my degree. People say uni years are the best of your life, and they haven’t been bad; I’m just over it all. I have assignments due and no time to do them, which always stresses me out.
- Have been so encouraged by some people at church re: bangladesh mission. God is immensly good.
- Had my aunt over for afternoon tea and cousin over for dinner last Thursday. They are from Bowral and Melbourne, respectively, and so it was good to catch up. And show our wedding photos. Again.
Things that will be:
- Canberra. We’re going down for the Anzac Day long weekend to attend dawn service and experience the circle sity in the company of Deb and Karen.
- Children. Ben and I are running the kids program at the Interserve prayer and fellowship weekend at Meroo. It’s ok for me to go this year as the commandment ‘thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s mission’, will be easier to adhere to since we have our own mission to attend to this year. It’ll be nice to catch up with old Interserve-type friends and aquaintences and hopefully we’ll run a decent kids program.
- More children. I’m working at Vacation care (which I don’t like doing) for a couple of weeks over the school holidays.
- Knitting. I’ve got some beautifully soft wool with which I am knitting Ben a scarf, hopefully in time for the cold.
