It is with a mild feeling of trepidation that I report that today is the last weekday of holidays before uni starts back again. I am fully aware that after three months break, I have no cause to complain, but something tells me it’s going to be an interesting transition back from my fairy tale into the real world. Ben and I have been fortunate to have so much free time following our wedding in which to relax and get used to living together and looking after ourselves. It’s been great, and relaxing and I feel thoroughly settled and rested, which, I suppose, is the best way to start the uni year. And I am starting to feel like I should be doing somthing useful. Since I moved and semi-quit my old job, and since the new job hasn’t worked out yet, and since moving churches and thus ending my old ministry commitments, I have started to feel like I should be putting myself to use or getting exceedingly busy like I have been for the last however many years. I like the break, but it just feels a little unnatural.
So, I feel like something has to give, and I suspect it will start to do so from next Monday.
Yesterday was a day for breaking things. Our car broke. Our lighting circut broke. The car is presently at the mechanic being fixed, but I havn’t heard from the sparky yet. Thankfully, although none of the ceiling lights are working, we have numerous lamps and plug in fans which still give us light and breeze. It is pretty warm today.
Tomorrow my parents, sister, brother, brother’s girlfriend, Ben and I are piling into my parents van and heading up the coast to visit my grandparents. I always look forward to going up there because I am deeply attached to that house (and my grandparents!), and I havn’t been there for ages. I think it’s Grandma’s birthday celebration or something.
Ben and I have finished the Two Towers. Finally we can watch the second DVD.

The Lion King did not dissapoint, and as it happens, we spent the first half in row P and the second half in row M, from where we got a very nice view indeed, and had a charming evening made all the more pleasant by the fact that we paid half the price for the seats we were seated in.
Saturday was spent with MKs in the morning, and with people from church at a Pig-on-a-Spit Party in the evening. Storms raged most of the weekend which was cool, but nasty to drive in. Sunday was the anual vestry meeting and two versions of church, followed by hungry jacks and sleep.
And today is Monday. Cooked curry for lunch and hung out with in-laws. Pleasant.

Oh yes, It’s beautiful in Africa
Tonight we are off to see the Lion King. I think I am excited because I’ve seen it once before and know how excellent it is, and because I can’t wait to see Ben enjoy it too. We’re going with a few other people from Church, but we’re mere students and so have elected to sit in the cheap seats up the back. However, we stand in hope of being shifted forward, and have equipped ourselves with binoculars, just to be on the safe side. We’re set. I can’t wait. It’s so brilliant. I’m writing in. Three word sentences.

I seem to have changed blog people again. Apparently, word press is easier to use and re-design than b2evolution, but I am yet to experience what wonders of design and blog aesthetics can be achieved using this new system. I should one day be able to get all my old blog stuff and have it transferred here, but until then, I think I’ll make a new start. Think of this current setup as an empty house without furniture in it yet. I have grand and probably impossible schemes for how I want this new place to look…funky black and white design features and plenty of graphics. The prospect is exciting, but may be an attenuated process as my very own resident web designer is entrenched in battle with psychology journals, implicit cognition and a Korean man who calls him ‘The Ben’.
So…the blue and unimaginative shell must be home for a while. Enjoy! I’ll be sleeping on a matress in the back room.
